Cake Time…

It is X–mas time and I thought I share with you the recipe of one of my favorite cakes. I just love this pie. Its fluffy, damp and soooo chocolatey – just delicious.

If I should be honest I don’t spend a lot of time in the kitchen but from time to time I like to surprise my Family and Friends with new tastes and my special “cook art”.

I have some tested dishes which I make perfectly and which to prepare doesn’t take a lot of time. Gorgeous chocolate – nut cake.

Everything what you need to prepare for is:

The scoop for the ingredients should be the plastic cup of the sour cream 250g.

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of sour cream ( I took 15% fat)
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • 1 pack of vanilla sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder (I took Nesquik)
  • ½ cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of grated walnuts
  • 1 pack of baking powder
  • rum (shot glass)
  • apricot jam

  • 150g. chocolate
  • 100ml. milk

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Add to the flour baking powder. Separate the egg yolk from the egg White. Beat the eggs white until stiff and give it to the fridge.

Mix together sugar, vanilla sugar, cocoa powder. Give the egg yolk. Mix with an electric mixer. Add the oil and mix on the middle speed. It should be a shiny elastic mass. After 2 minutes add the sour cream and rum. Mix all the time. Now put in the grated walnuts. Add the flour with baking powder. Mix everything well. At the end give to the chocolate – nut mass the beaten egg white by mixing carefully with the spoon.

Put the parchment paper into the prepared baking tin and let the cake mass flow in. Bake with air flow – approx. 50min. (until the wood stick is dry).

After 30min cut the cake horizontally in the middle and add one layer of apricot jam.

To prepare the glaze you need to melt the chocolate in the milk.

Bon Appetit!
